Live Out Loud and Your S.H.O.E. Personality - Amber Valentine is an expert in helping women lead themselves and others. As a chief Visionary Officer and founder of Scale the Limit LLC, she helps women transform internally, and externally through her mindful weight loss program.

Break-out Sessions:

Women’s Self-defense with Facilitator:

Sgt. Jason Winner- Front Royal Police Department- Criminal Investigations Division
This two-hour self-defense class will focus on situational awareness, hands-on techniques, and simulated attacks (This is popular, RSVP early to ensure your spot).

 

Spiritual Health – Building a Caring Community:

A path to health, vitality and spiritual enrichment –with Pastor Carrie Evans of Front Royal Presbyterian Church
Community caring is vital to not only our own health but also to our children and families. Join me as we discuss ways in which looking outwards towards others and reaching beyond oneself can be a spiritually enriching experience as well as building a better community for each and every one of us.

Financial Wellness – Taking Control of your Finances:

A Money Talk for Women -Tanya Rosenberry, Manager of Sona Bank, Front Royal
This workshop created by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, will cover basic spending and saving, how to create and use a budget effectively, what you need to know about credit and protecting your assets and the big “R” Retirement. A comprehensive look at things easily overlooked.

 

Stepping into Exquisite Self-Care with Patty Maples and Carol C. Robinson

Join Patty Maples and Carol Robinson in an interactive and engaging session where you will be reminded of the importance of self-care and learn ways to create daily habits that nurture you and provide you with the ability to face life creatively and joyfully. You will identify certain areas of your life that you can improve upon without feeling guilty or self-indulgent. You will learn that the time you devote to caring for your physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of your life will rejuvenate you and help you create a more joyful and meaningful life.

Vision Boarding with The Laurel Center

Come and create your own personal vision board – which is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus or express wishes or specific life goals. A vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. A collage of images and words to represent or express your wishes, goals to serve as inspiration and motivation.

 

Gentle Yoga with Michelle Hamer Owner of Wildfire Yoga

Gentle Yoga- Enjoy a relaxing yoga sequence focused on flexibility, breath and meditation. All levels welcome, mats will be provided (adaptation of chair yoga if needed)

 

Wellness Starts Within - How to live your best in 2020 with Dr. Neema Tillery Moore

Using dance, meditation, creative expressions using coloring, and a number of other fun and light-hearted techniques we will find the way to relieve stress, find and use ways to create inner peace and relaxation.

 

Women’s Health -Why Gender Matters: How to Be a Healthier Woman with Vicki Davies

How are woman’s health concerns are different from men? What every woman needs to know, along with ways to boost woman’s health with tips on being a healthier woman.

Women’s Wellness Forum – Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020

 

The Laurel Center in partnership with the Front Royal Women’s Resource Center will be hosting a Women’s Wellness Forum.

Title: “Finding Your Balance” on Saturday Feb. 1st, 2010 (snow date: Sat., Feb. 8th)

Location: New Hope Bible Church- 80 N. Lake Ave., Front Royal, VA

Time: 10am-3:30pm -setup and breakdown times below

Details: No charge for tabling and tables will be provided. The event will focus on a variety of breakout sessions to include, self-defense, Women’s Health, Financial Wellness, Life Transitions, Yoga, Vision Boards, and more! We will have a keynote speaker and lunch will be provided for all. The best part-

The event is free to the public!

On behalf of The Laurel Center and FRWRC, we thought this would be a great opportunity to reach out to our local community allies and offer them an opportunity to table at this event! Set-up will begin at 9am, Breakdown at 3:30pm You can feel free to come and go with what times work best for your organization, just let us know the times.
