Dr. Rosalie H. Norem holds a PhD in Social Psychology and Family Therapy from the University of Minnesota. While Professor and Head of the Department of Family Environment at Iowa State University, she began working on international development projects. She subsequently joined the Research and Development Bureau of the US Agency for International Development. As director of Technical Services for Women in Development, she worked in over 35 countries. From there she joined the Women in Development Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for a 5-year posting in Rome, during which time she participated in projects in numerous other countries. She has also done extensive consulting for the US, British, Dutch and Finnish Governments, various universities and numerous private organizations
