Out of the Comfort Zone

I’m afraid says the humble child

Be brave says the guiding adult

We are made to struggle

We are made to question

We are made to step out, step up.

There is unique comfort in repetitive behavior

Safe harbor where we stay in our being

But then the question arises

Should I leap

Should I venture alone

Should I reach out, reach in.

A scary place- our child-self taking the first step.

We do not grow unless we leap

Into the unknown where mystery hides

Venture out of your comfort zone

Attack that negative self

Yes I can, yes I can

If that little engine can climb the hill

You can achieve all the mountains you choose to cross.
