Late February 2026

Late February 2026

Between warming days winter persists, dropping ice and snow
on the mountains and blizzards up north
Still, daffodils and crocuses emerge, Lenten rose buds, wild roses
and moss turn green. Woodland trees grow taller and wider,
living with large rocks in a coexistence embrace, hinting of eternity.

Winter’s best winter gift is the opening of space to sunsets, winging hawks
and vistas across the valley and mountains beyond, welcome gems of peace and beauty.
Nature survives, thrives, destroys and is destroyed
As so do we.
