Middle
The sand colored trail winds through the forest, a remnant of rains
and an ocean. Nearby rocks reach high into the canopy, revealing
multi-colored stories of eruptions, lava flows and quakes.
Sweet ripe blackberries along the path foretell summer’s ending, while at home
honeybees buzz in the window box in the morning, at times kill each other
for lack of pollen, mostly evading my attempts at capture and release,
ad disappear at night.
The cycles continue , changing, hotter, wetter.
Gaia shudders and adapts.
Can we?
