The FRWRC will hold its second annual “Spotlight on Women” program on Sunday, May 15. This program recognizes and celebrates the lives of exceptional women in our community. This year’s honoree is Lillian Sloane, a long-time, dedicated school teacher, hospital volunteer, and charter member of several community organizations, such as Blue Ridge Arts Council, as well as community boards, such as Social Services and Parks and Recreation. This year’s theme is “Hats Off to Mrs. Sloane,” and attendees are encouraged to wear hats as we share the story of a remarkable life. Light refreshments will be served, and everyone in our community is invited to attend.
