Guest: Sari Carp, Ph.D., Executive Director-Sustainability Matters

Host: Eka Kapiotis

Bio: Sari Carp is the co-founder and Executive Director of Sustainability Matters, a new and rapidly growing environmental nonprofit. She is a refugee from academia, a former business school professor whose research specialty, behavioral finance, focused on explaining why investors don’t behave the way economic theory says they should. She’s now seeing many of the same biases at work in environmental behavior. Sari lives in Shenandoah County, where she experiments with sustainable landscaping, eats her groundhog’s leftover vegetables, and serves as personal assistant to the Sustainability Matters spokescat, Haym, a clowder of ex-feral cats, and a rescue Barnevelder rooster, Hans van Cranberry.
