Julie Carter
Ms. Carter is a mother of two daughters. She has worked full-time while completing her General Studies Criminal Justice Associates, Paralegal Associates of Applied Science and a Certification in Office Systems Assistance at Lord Fairfax Community College. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the LFCC Administrative Support Technology/Paralegal Studies Advising Organization.
Julie graduated from all three programs this May with a 3.77 GPA and plans to transfer to Old Dominion University in the fall of 2017 to obtain her Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Public Service.
Julie wishes to work with troubled youth and economically challenged families to affect positive change in their lives within community programs and, eventually, the criminal justice system. Her long term goal is to become a lawyer and advocate for this population.
Julie is the first in her family to go to college.
This grant was awarded to assist in paying for her last transition class and books at Lord Fairfax Community College enabling her to transfer to Old Dominion University.
Awarded $1,000 towards her educational costs.
