Creating Magical Spaces
My life took a 180 one very hot day in the summer month of July of 2000. I was leaving my Office Manager duties at a landscaping company in Northern Virginia, when happily I received a call from a very dear friend of mine for whom I used to work many years prior. She had learned of a landscaping contract that was being bid on. With her encouragement I applied and was awarded the contract. After this catalytic first landscape opportunity, the business grew exponentially.
With a flourishing business, I decided to purchase 25 acres of pristine forest property parallel to the Shenandoah River located near Front Royal, Virginia. I had a long-established vision of using the undeniable beauty of the countryside as an inspiration, creating unique and serene sanctuaries within more urban areas. Using this ideal as a stepping stone, and seeking more from life than a 9-5 job, I gave humble birth to what is today Turtle Rock Landscaping, Ltd.
Today, Turtle Rock is a Virginia licensed Limited Liability Corporation with full liability insurance coverage. Our staff of maintenance crew, garden laborers, landscape designers and horticulture specialists is trained to pay close attention to detail, and expertly tend to every request. Our clientele includes both residential and commercial properties, and our scope is wide and diverse. We are dedicated to leaving your property in a state of manicure and creativity that will make you smile.
In the past 15 years of operation, Turtle Rock has grown from a small, one woman-owned Sole Proprietorship to a full-service, turnkey Limited Liability Corporation providing what we have coined as “garden couture”, landscape design and installation. We also do grounds maintenance, flower rotations, fertilization programs, spring and fall clean-up, leaf removal, and even gutter cleaning and snow removal (proudly contracted with V-DOT for the last 6 years). Turtle Rock can renovate any landscape whether it is large or small, install or repair retaining walls, add a garden feature, or install “magical” water features or “secret” garden alcoves for which we have become known.
We are in tune with Nature and are adept at enhancing its Beauty
Today, Turtle Rock can boast of a full range of residential and commercial clients, some of whom you might know by name. Senator and Mrs. John W. Warner and several patrons and Board of Trustee members of the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra are clients with whom Turtle Rock has an “open” contract for grounds maintenance, manicure, and beautification. Most of our work is in Virginia, however we have clients in Maryland as well, and we have also been contacted for out of town consultations and landscape work at beach home fronts, mountain resort properties, and farm work sites. At Turtle Rock we grow, as do I. For me, there is no other business that is so very rewarding, and that has allowed me and the Turtle Rock crew to make your piece of Earth more beautiful and special to your eye.
