Our Programs and Services

The Dare to Dream Grant was established to provide women with an opportunity to enrich their personal and professional lives. Grant amounts vary with maximum amount of $1,000 which goes directly to the school or vendor, etc. These are presented to local women each year in March to help make their dreams come true. The Kim South Girl Grant was founded in 2006 by Mary Ellen South in memory of her daughter Kim South. This grant is given to middle school-aged young women in  Warren County . It provides encouragement,  support and recognition to young women who may not be recognized in the traditional ways but can use this validation of their self-worth.  See more about our Kim South Girl Grant Program!

The Elaine Bromfield Memorial Scholarship empowers women in financial need with the courage and determination to pursue educational training that will lead towards self-sufficiency. It is awarded to women residing in Warren County, age 20 and over. The educational scholarship is presented annually during the Dare to Dream grant cycle.

The Women’s Resource annual Breakfast and Luncheon provide an opportunity to present and honor our grant recipients as well as creating a meeting and networking opportunity for women in the community.

Voices of Valley Women invites and encourages area women to be creative.  Add your voice to our writer’s forum and send us your original writings. We’ll publish original writings in the Weekly Email Update and also on our web site. Writing can be in any genre (poetry‚ fiction‚ non–fiction‚ letter‚ essay). A Monthly Radio Program is produced by the FRWRC on the third Thursday of each month. The program titled‚ The Valley Women Today‚ features interviews with interesting people and organizations in Warren County showcasing topics and issues of interest to women. We can be found on WFTR radio‚ at 1450AM or WZVR 95.3FM‚ on the third Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 1:00 PM. Listen to the Radio shows.

The Library Book Donation Program co–sponsored with Royal Oak Bookshop‚ provides books by or about women to Samuels Public Library on a monthly basis. See our list of Donated Books !  See our up-to-date book reviews!

Special Events have included the Front Royal Heritage Celebration that marked the 150–year anniversary of women’s rights‚ the fund raiser for the Forensic Nurse Examiners Program at Warren Memorial Hospital and the poetry workshop and evening performance with award winning poet, Patricia Johnson.
